This web site was originally created as an on-line resume and portfolio to seek better CAD/CAM career opportunities. The Web site has assisted me in obtaining
positions as a CNC programmer and Mold Designer as well as acquiring an adjunct faculty position
in the CNC Lab at Queensborough Community College.
Going forward, I will be devoting my Web site to the pursuit of my long-range aspirations and visions. I have been fascinated by the process of applying innovative manufacturing technologies as new tools for sculpture
ever since I founded A.R.T.S. (Art Renaissance of Technology and
Sculpture) in 1975.

A couple of years ago, I took a course in FrontPage2000 to develop my own Web site in order to seek better employment opportunities. Follow this link for my
Original Statement which I wrote when I launched this site on May 24, 2000.

While 2D digital media has advanced into artistic realms utilizing drawing, painting and CAD programs, I have been primarily focused on employing CNC technology to create sculptures in various machinable materials. Since I began
working with CAD/CAM systems and programming CNC tools I have always been cognizant of new ways of expressing artistic conceptions through the use of this exciting technology. New
horizons for artistic expression are opening up with this technology, which I discuss in
this essay. Ultimately, my own long range aspirations are moving in the direction of a CNC machine shop for the artisan replete with CAD/CAM, CNC and reverse engineering technology to produce 3D artworks by sculptors, designers and for my own artistic creations.

I would like to first of all thank my loving wife, Alma, who has contributed the page banners and helped with the graphics for this site. Most of all I am grateful for such a caring and devoted person who has given me wholehearted support to achieve my aspirations. Both of us share a mutual interest in Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism which we practice together to help achieve our goals. Currently, she is the principal of Alma Orenstein art&design, a freelance graphic design studio. Her specialty is the creation of book and magazine covers and interiors, newsletter and other print media design and layout. You may contact her for more information at the same phone number above or via email:

I want to express my appreciation to the entrepreneurs, machine shop personnel, teachers students and artists from all over the world who have visited my site and sent emails commending me for my efforts and the graphic images I have shared. This very phenomenon of connecting with people throughout the world illustrates the astonishing power of the internet as a vast global communication tool. Without promotion or submission of my site to any search engines, people with similar interests have found me by keyword searches via Google and other popular search engines.

In addition, I proudly support President Bush and his Administration in the courageous war against terrorism. I wish to thank our brave young American servicemen and women who continue to put themselves in harm's way to protect the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy in our great country. In addition, I will never forget our fallen heroes in the New York Fire Department and Police Department who have given their lives to save others in the terrorist attack on America on 9/11. My prayers continually go out to the families of the victims and to the heroes who continue to protect us.
