Toroidal Knot    3D surface model that I created in AutoCAD for the Acrylic CNC Sculpture. We sometimes referred to it as "The Intermingled Donut". I  generated CNC prototypes and acrylic castings for it while I was working at Norman Mercer Acrylic Sculpture Studios. 

donut2.jpg (22813 bytes) CNC Machined Donut   One of the prototype studies generated  for Toroidal Knot machined in Ren Shape on a Techno-Isel CNC router. The ultimate challenge was to develop a molding strategy to create a one-piece acrylic casting.
torus4.jpg (19457 bytes) Toroidal Shapes   Various shapes were generated from CAD surface models for machining studies of 3D toroidal surfaces for CNC sculptures.
imdsurf.gif (22743 bytes) Wireframe Surface Mesh   Toroidal Knot surfaces viewed in wireframe mode. There is a certain intrinsic beauty to surface mesh entities and NURBS surfaces in themselves.
