As you review the following pages, you will see graphic images of my work and accomplishments since I began fabricating acrylic
sculptures and designs 25 years ago in my own company called A.R.T.S. (Art Renaissance of
Technology & Sculpture). I am currently working for POP Displays International as a
CNC Programmer and Mold Designer. I am seeking a more challenging opportunity in
an environment that compliments my creative and professional
skills.
This Web site is my own inspiration and creation. It is a work in progress to give concrete graphic expression to my visions, ideas and creations. The overriding theme, which is evident throughout my career, is the fusion of
art and technology. It started out with a passion for sculpture in
acrylic with a vision for a renaissance of the creative spirit and it is still an enduring pursuit. This theme carries through to the present time as I have accumulated a wealth of experience in some of the latest
CAD/CAM and manufacturing technologies. To me, injection mold design, CNC programming and machining,
surface and solid modeling, model making and creating prototype tooling are all highly creative crafts. The common denominator is the
CAD database of visualized geometric form to deliver the physical part or sculpture
downstream. My ultimate aim is to create art and sculpture through
applying these technologies and materials. The
new tools of the computer sculptor which replace the hammer, chisel,
carving knives, modeling clay and manual tools of the traditional sculptor, are
CAD/CAM, CNC milling machines, rapid
prototyping, reverse engineering, haptic free-form modeling systems and many other
tools for this new renaissance of sculpture.
My Web site is an online resume and portfolio attempting to connect
with prospective employers or like-minded individuals that would benefit from my
CAD/CAM, CNC,
tooling and creative experience. After reviewing it please don't hesitate to
contact me to further discuss our mutual opportunities. The immediate
job that I seek is a shop-floor position in an injection mold making shop or
prototype mold shop as a CNC programmer and mold designer. My software
of choice is MasterCAM and AutoCAD Mechanical Desktop.
It is an ongoing challenge creating a Web site in my spare time while holding
a full time job and trying to maintain a modicum of a social life. Besides laying out graphical elements and
adding Java applets, the most time intensive component was rendering my collection of CAD solid models and translating them into JPEG's and GIF's. I also wish to thank my wife Alma for scanning in recent and pre-CAD photos of my work and helping me with her
graphic design skills.
I have put the "under construction" GIF on just about every page because my Web site will always be under construction. It is an enduring process, which is following an ongoing creative career path. I look forward to what the future holds!
